At our Paradise show in Boston, no amount of water chugging or honey-lemon-cayanne tea sipping could help my ailing voice. I sounded like an out od tune Kim Carnes (‘Bette Davis Eyes.’) People were kind.

I walked through Cambdridge Commons, where young America’s first hodge-podge militia assembled. No uniforms. No military training. Washington arrived to survey the men, and was appalled at their slovenly undisciplined condition. This burial ground lies adjacent to the Commons..
