I love Melbourne. More specifically, I love the people of Melbourne. More precisely, I love the music fans in Melbourne. Our show at the Hi-Fi was delightful. After my set, an Australian gal told me that five years ago, she was in the audience the first time I ever performed Bowie’s “Modern Love”…at an 80s tribute in the West Village of New York City, for a room full of about 300 gay boys (and her). She bought my a copy of The Last Town Chorus’ first album that night and joined the mailing list, and here she is five years later. Tonight I also got to catch up with Dave Laing, my main fella at my Aussie label, Shock Records. My last show with Ash is tomorrow in Adelaide. I’m still at the venue; our flight leaves in eight hours.
