Brooklyn, NY: Razor-Edge Times

During this Summer of songcraft, I’ve settled into a morning routine. Prior to entering the studio, I sit at a table with an iced coffee, my beloved Financial Times newspaper and a big book to collect my musical ideas in. Today’s FT had a marvellously apt article about the challenges faced by my generation of entrepreneurs in light of the economy’s tailspin. This Thornton Wilder quote was cited therein:

‘I know that every good and excellent thing stands moment by moment on the razor-edge of danger and must be fought for.’

I thusly entered my studio and posted the quote by the left monitor.
