Bluesfest is Australia’s most beloved festival, held in Byron Bay – a vaguely mystical coastal town. I’m massively honored to be here, playing on a bill with the likes of John Fogerty, Keith Urban, Wilco, Sinead O’Conner, Buddy Guy, Mavis Staples, Jeff Lang, and the likes. Lotsa American artists over here.

Flew up to the Gold Coast, rented a car, and came to Paul Brewer’s lovely quasi-rural home in Mullimbimby to rehearse in his shed with the band I’ll play with at Bluesfest. There are at least two former pro surfers in this particular band (Neal Purchase and Andrew Kidman). This trend of rehearsing-once-with-a-brand-new-band is both thrilling and unnerving.
