Rich (Hinman, guitarist and tourmate) notes that this is a half decent view, for a coffee shop. Which is good, being as the coffee itself tasted like dirt.

After last night’s show in Denver, we stayed with my dear old friend Ross in Boulder, CO. I love being humbled by landscape.

Minneapolis, MN: Family Portrait With Lap Steel

Originally uploaded by MeganFromTheLastTownChorus

On the first night of the tour with Weakerthans, in Minneapolis, photographer Darin Back fetched my lap steel and me from the venue before the show and took us to his studio to shoot. It felt like sitting for a family portrait.

Minneapolis, MN: First night of North American tour with Weakerthans

The first show is in Minneapolis. The Weakerthans invited us on a big tour that begins on the release date for their new album, ‘Reunion Tour’ (Epitaph). They are Canadian, thus far nicer, frankly, than I am comfortable with. This silk-screened poster for the Minneapolis concert was designed by poster gods, Aesthetic Apparatus. (The Last Town Chorus is in the fine print).
