Minneapolis, MN: Family Portrait With Lap Steel
Originally uploaded by MeganFromTheLastTownChorus
On the first night of the tour with Weakerthans, in Minneapolis, photographer Darin Back fetched my lap steel and me from the venue before the show and took us to his studio to shoot. It felt like sitting for a family portrait.

Minneapolis, MN: First night of North American tour with Weakerthans

The first show is in Minneapolis. The Weakerthans invited us on a big tour that begins on the release date for their new album, ‘Reunion Tour’ (Epitaph). They are Canadian, thus far nicer, frankly, than I am comfortable with. This silk-screened poster for the Minneapolis concert was designed by poster gods, Aesthetic Apparatus. (The Last Town Chorus is in the fine print).

Brooklyn, NY (Home): Leaving the church organ behind
Originally uploaded by MeganFromTheLastTownChorus
I miss my home studio when I’m away. I’ve recently begun carrying a small ProTools recording setup with me on tours. Alas, the faux church organ is slightly too unwieldy to bring along.

Brooklyn, NY (home): Back to School

The days leading up to the next tour featured sublime Back To School weather, so I walked around my neighborhood alot, and listened to lots of Cocteau Twins and other crush-tastic music. New York feels practically liveable in the Fall and Spring.
